The Munkkivuori church, designed by architect, Olavi Kantele, was dedicated in 1963. The parish was separated from the Munkkiniemi parish in 1967 and returned to it as of the beginning of 2011. The bell tower and its three bells were completed in 1963. Notable renovation of the church hall and the parish building took place in 1997.

The Munkkivuori has the mosaic work, Fiat volutas tua (Thy will be done) by artist, Åke Hellman, completed in 1965.

The church installed the 30-stop organ built by the Kangasala organ factory in 1965.

The Munkkivuori church is used by the Munkkiniemi parish.
